The AuthenticateMyWiFi service enables you to use the Enterprise mode of Wi-Fi Protected Access—WPA or WP2—encryption for your wireless network.

It provides you with access to a RADIUS server, which is required for the enterprise-level encryption, that provides 802.1X/PEAP authentication for your network. Our service gives you top-notch Wi-Fi security, without the high monetary and time costs!

AuthenticateMyWiFi™ Features

Similar hosting companies just provide the authentication service, however we offer a full feature set:

Works with All Operating Systems and Hardware

Our AuthenticateMyWiFi™ service doesn't require you to have any special software or hardware.

All Wi-Fi CERTIFIED hardware (wireless routers, access points, wireless adapters, etc) that supports WPA or WP2 Enterprise encryption (with the PEAP protocol) should work with the AuthenticateMyWiFi™ service. However, the Activity Logs are only available when the access point or wireless router supports RADIUS accounting; some consumer-level gear doesn't support it.

Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux are all supported

Our service also works with all mobile platforms that support 802.1X authentication, such as: Apple iPad/iPod Touch/iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone, and more.

Yearly subscriptions are on a year-to-year basis and monthly subscriptions are on a month-to-month basis. (Similar hosting companies offer monthly prices, but require a year contract.) At any time, you can cancel the subscription and you won't be charged again.

A single AuthenticateMyWiFi™ account can be used to support wireless routers and access points across multiple locations throughout the world. They just need to be connected to the Internet in order to work with our service.

Why We're Better Than Other Servers

You'll find traditional RADIUS servers that can be used for 802.1X authentication. However, we offer a few things Windows Server IAS/NPS and other authentication servers don't. Here are several reasons to choose us:

  • Multi-location support: You can use our service among different locations and offices. Each access point (AP) can still be assigned its own shared secret (password). APs don't have to be Internet-facing; they can be behind NAT routers or gateways.

Traditional RADIUS servers don't work well over the Internet. If you want to use a traditional server to authenticate users at multiple locations, each office would need to have a static Internet IP address and you'd be limited to using one secret for all the access points at the location (not as secure).

  • Saves you money: Our service starts at $13 a month or $130 a year. Traditional RADIUS servers can cost several hundred to a few thousand dollars.

  • Saves you time and energy: You'll be connecting to your enterprise-encrypted network in 15 minutes or less with our service. We even offer a user guide to help you configure your computers with the 802.1X settings. Understanding how RADIUS works and figuring out how to install and configure a server can take a long time.

  • Web-based control panel: You'll receive access to an online Control Panel where you can enter your AP details, create user accounts, and manage other settings. Some servers don't have a GUI and aren't as easy to remotely manage.

Setting up the Service

Our step-by-step guide will help you set up your network with our service:

  1. Create accounts for your users in the AuthenticateMyWiFi Control Panel and enter a few settings for your wireless router and/or access points (APs).

  2. Enter a few settings on your wireless router or access points (APs).

  3. Connect to your wireless network and enter a username and password you created. Older versions of Windows (XP and earlier) require reconfiguring he encryption and authentication settings, which we discuss in our manual.

You can change the usernames, passwords, and revoke access when you wish. Plus for each user, you can optionally restrict access by login times, limit access via a particular Wi-Fi computer/device, or via a certain AP.
